Hollywood Remakes

Why does Hollywood feel the need to constantly remake films?  Whether they were horrible to begin with, or classics, Hollywood is constantly putting it's thumb prints all over it!  Never understood why.  Now, there are some movies remakes that were great. And then, you have some that are a bit, meh.
This subject came to me earlier today when I heard that they were remaking "Overboard".  Why, Hollywood, why?!
Now they are coming out with:

*Tron
*Short Circuit
*Arthur (with Russell Brand)
*Back to School (with Cedric the Entertainer)
*Conan (no Arnold)
*The Karate Kid
*The Birds (with Naomi Watts and George Clooney)
*Rosemary's Baby (Produced by Michael Bay)

Just to name a few.

Here are some HORRIBLE remakes:

-Psycho
-Godzilla
-Planet of the Apes
-Poseidon
-The Women

(I have not yet seen "Clash of the Titans".  I'll get back to you after this Friday about it.)

Is Hollywood that creatively bankrupt that it needs to remake movies instead of producing new great ones?  Am I the only one who feels this way?  It's also making films about the most mundane objects!! Example:  sometime soon we will be seeing a flick ab "Stretch Armstrong" and the "Rubix Cube".  The fucking colored cube?! Hollywood, if you need new ideas for movies, go to a starbucks on Highland Ave or Sunset and pick up a script being written right now as I type this by some no name screen writer!  I'm not guaranteeing that it will be good...but there's big chance that it won't be a flick ab the Pet Rock or a remake of Schindlers List!

Until next time, here's hoping that you're not bored at work.
