Memorable Movie Moms

Ok, so I thought I'd start off with something movie related. And since my clock is (slowly but surely) ticking, memorable movie moms seemed appropriate. I apologize if I left any of your favorites off of the list. And these are in no particular order.
Hope you enjoy!

1) Shirley Maclaine as Aurora in "Terms of Endearment"
-Her performance in this flick is so moving!!! Yes, she is overbearing and a bit scatter brained with her own love life, but my god did she Fight for her daughter and her grandkids!! Love love love this movie!

2) Julie Andrews as Maria in "Sound of Music"
-I know that she plays their nanny and the Cpt.'s love intrest in this flick more than she plays their stepmother, but she flees her own country for these kids! And it lays to rest that timely old saying, "Love can make a girl do crazy things". She's awesome a beautiful. AND makes their clothes from curtains! Bonus points in my book.

3) Sally Fields as M'Lynn in "Steel Magnolias"
-if anyone knows me or my immediate family (and you all do) then you must know that this is all one of our "go to" movies. Specifically because of Sally Fields and her best friends silly antics. But for me, it's mostly all Sally Fields who keeps me coming back to this beautiful movie. Her acting is timeless, especially in the scene where she's standing over her daughter, Truvy, casket. "I just want to hit somebody..." Classic.

4) Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in "Mommy Dearest"
-not sure if this one really needs explaining as to why it's on the list...if you haven't see it, rent it. Rent the he'll out of it! It will make your mommy issues seem obsolete. Love the line where her daughter protests, "I'M NOT ONE OF YOUR FANS!!!"

5) Anne Ramesy as Momma in "Throw Momma from the Train"
- Another flick for you to rent. I wouldn't be able to do it justice if by describing it here. A great comedy that does make you want to Throw Momma!

6) Linda Hamilton us Sarah Connor in "The Terminator: 1&2"
- Although my brother in law always debate about which Terminator is more kick ass (#2 for me) we both agree that Sarah Connor is Bad Ass! The very fact that she's trying to save her son because she believes him to be the end all be all hope for man kind is a bit nutty, but courageous and brave! She put her sanity and reputation on the line to prove it. Plus she's kind of hott in T2.

7) Goldie Hawn as Joanna/Annie in "Overboard"
- Another one of those timeless comedys where if you haven't seen it, crawl up from under that rock and effing rent it! Also, another
movie my siblings and I go to for laughs. Poor Hawn is tricked into thinking that she has amnesia and is the real mother of horrible bratty boys. Memorable quote, "I like it when she goes 'bah bah bah'"

Once again, I apologize if I kept your favorites off the list, if I can think of anymore, I will add on.
Thanks for reading, and here's to hoping that you're not bored at work!
